Suite La finestra: El pruner

‘La Finestra’ is a suite for solo guitar created by the Barcelona composer Feliu Gasull i Altisent. Composed in 2018, the work consists of five movements, each with its own character: ‘M’agrada la teva pell’, ‘Caminet’, ‘El pruner’, ‘Pit-roig’ and ‘La papallona’.

Like a kaleidoscope of emotions, each movement is a delicate musical miniature, inspired by the visions that the maestro Gasull contemplated from the window of his studio, which gives rise to the evocative title of the suite: ‘La Finestra’ (The Window).

These pieces are a mosaic of contrasts: some are joyful and lively, others melancholic and profound. Their unique sonority is the result of a singular tuning of the guitar: D-A-D-F#-B-E, which colours the work with unusual harmonic tones.

Thus, ‘La Finestra’ stands as a sonorous portal, inviting the listener to peek into the inner world of the composer, where each note is a reflection of life observed through the glass of his inspiration.
