Bach’s music reaches such a degree of perfection and abstraction that it transcends the instrument for which it was originally conceived, allowing it to be approached through other sound worlds. The guitar, a plucked-string instrument like the harpsichord, naturally integrates into this sonic framework while, at the same time, contributing its own distinctive timbral colour.

The transcription of French Suite No. 4, BWV 815, presented here arises from the desire to perform this music directly on the instrument and, through these pages of great beauty, to contribute to the expansion of the guitar repertoire.
