The use of popular themes in written music has been a constant since its origins.

In today’s increasingly globalized world, where the differences between cultures and societies seem to blur, it is significant that an aesthetic reaction has emerged to reclaim the particular roots that make each people unique. From this premise comes FolkSongs, a recording project that tells this story through the colors of the mandolin and guitar. Piazzolla, Bartók, Gershwin, Falla, and Chamorro are part of this timbral universe full of nuances created by Mari Carmen Simón (mandolin) and Pablo Rioja (guitar), united in a constant dialogue between both instruments.
