The album opens with passages that invite a dreamy and tranquil atmosphere, where the lute showcases its ability to envelop the listener. Following this, it pays tribute to the rich polyphony of the Renaissance, demonstrating the technical mastery of the performer. The album also includes influences from Latin American folklore, featuring works that evoke the spirit of Brazilian folk, Venezuelan chords and arpeggios, and a sweet Valencian lullaby.

SETEMBRE
The thirteen pieces that make up this collection are all born from the same impulse: a joyous declaration to the lute.
Setembre (September), for example, are simple melodies that serve as a pretext to explore the instrument’s open sound.

O ANJO MALUCO
O anjo maluco (The Crazy Angel) is a recreation of the mad angel from Brazilian folklore who is blamed when a piece of toast falls and always lands on the side with butter spread on it. The Rio de Janeiro version of Murphy’s law states, “if something goes wrong, at least it makes you laugh.” It was this carefree humor that the composer Angel Pozo wanted to imprint upon this piece.
