Dúo

PERFORMER

David Duque and Luis Alejandro García, both natives of Tenerife, are two of the young musicians of the Canary Islands with the greatest international projection. Trained in the Professional and Superior Conservatories of the islands in Guitar and united by a deep friendship, they have followed parallel paths, although different.

David Duque is currently professor of timple at the EMMD “Villa de la Orotava”, and devotes his work to the Canarian instrument through the transcription, adaptation and composition of works, including the timple in chamber music formats. He has sustained an intense concert activity at national and international level, in addition to having extensive experience in the field of choral and instrumental conducting.

Luis Alejandro García, also graduated in Musicology, on the other hand, has developed a brilliant career as a guitar soloist, recognized with more than 40 international awards. He has published numerous CDs and his career has allowed him to tour many countries in Europe and America, perform with major orchestras and debut in prestigious venues such as the Musikverein Wien, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium or the Palau de la Música Catalana.

From this interesting, talented and multifaceted union is born Dalek Dúo, a timple and guitar ensemble that applies a renewing prism to the format, highly inspired and focused on chamber music. Their work has led them to show their art in different parts of the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula, an activity that will soon cross borders and that they have captured in their first album as a duo, entitled Diálogo entre Raíces (JSM Guitar Records, 2022).
