ABOUT THIS RELEASE

There are melodies that are not played—they are sighed. “Canción de Amor,” the lyrical jewel immortalized by Paco de Lucía in 1973, takes on a new, cinematic life in the hands of Antonio Serrano and the Orquesta Ciudad de la Mancha.

In this slow rumba, Serrano’s harmonica—who shared both stage and confidences with Paco himself for years—does more than interpret: it makes the instrument sing with the vulnerability of a cantaor. Under the baton of Fernando Bustamante, alongside guitarist Manuel Cerpa and clarinetist Miguel Ruiz, the orchestra wraps this piece in a sonic fabric of plectrum and guitars, elevating flamenco to a universal chamber music dimension. It is the most intimate and sophisticated facet of the genius from Algeciras, now transformed into a living, vibrant, and eternal organism.
