Presque mélodies
Segon Quadern
Josep Pascual
Premier world recording by: Oscar Ebro-Nebot
With this collection for solo guitar, Presque mélodies, Josep Pascual i Triay (Barcelona, 1964) conveys the idea of expressing something akin to a song, as the title itself suggests. Through a unique musical language, these seemingly non-existent songs immerse us in an intense, deep and delicate world of sound, in which no note is superfluous. As Josep Pascual says, quoting Rossini, they are composed “with much heart and a little science.”
Of moderate difficulty, these are six short, versatile pieces that may be performed as individual works, paired two by two, or played all linked together in the form of a suite.
